COUNT ME IN BELIZE

OK, so maybe Count Me In deserves it's own page. It is a project different than the one we are doing with inviting pastors to this conference in March, and so as we gather info and as we promote and spread the word, get videos and pictures and interview parents, kids, youth pastors and as Tati and I have surveyed different properties and just collected all sorts of important info, I shall share and collect it here on this tab!

As a brief rundown, Count Me In is an organization started by founders Chris and Amber White who are from Convergence Church in Fort Worth, TX. Our church The Awakening in Athens, GA is a church plant of Convergence. Anyway, they have a vision for youths to have camps to come to that not only bring them fun and sports, but awesome lessons about God, a place to learn Christian values, but more importantly just to become empowered and taught about their identity and inheritance in the Lord.

These camps are sponsored, so Count Me In raises money to send kids to go to camp. Also it is country-wide and not denomination specific. They work with churches and leaders of the country to put this on to lead and speak, and also bring a team from the US. They have a camp in Kenya that has grown to 1200 after four years.

After looking at multiple places that just weren't perfect for what we were envisioning, the Lord totally surprised us and brought us to the perfect place!! It was after a long day of traveling to different cities, and finally we pulled up to Kings College, the only boarding school in the country of Belize, and as we talked to Pedro Reyes the principal and manager of the grounds, he was so happy to talk to us, tell us all of the amenities his place provided (which were WAY beyond what we were dreaming up) and the best part is that it only will cost $3 per person per night to stay!!!! That includes water, electricity and the facilities. There are so many more cool details to this, but here are some pictures from our scouting places and landing on Kings College:
